AI Features

The biggest feature release of the year was the world’s first (and only) augmented intelligence (AI) co-collaborator, StormAI.

Adopted by thousands of users and hundreds of forward-thinking organizations, StormAI works alongside human teams to accelerate workflows and enhance creative output.

Separating StormAI from the slew of collaborative AI tools available, is its exceptional ability to understand the context of projects and put users on a direct path to their goals.

StormAI Functionalities:

Automated Template Generation – Give context to a project, goal, and relevant details for a custom workspace, helping you reach your goal faster.

Smart(er) Templates – Further enhance Stormboard’s Smart Templates to find patterns, conclusions, angles, and ideas your team hasn’t considered yet.

Augmented Idea Generation – Instantly generate contextually-related ideas based on the work you’ve already done, the goal of your workspace, and the metadata (like headers, workspace structure, and more).
- Storm Administrators can control the level of AI access collaborators have to push the boundaries of team creativity.

Output Language Selection – Collaborators on multinational teams can add and engage with AI ideas and content in 11 different languages. Find out how to change the output language of StormAI.

Regenerate AI-Sections – Not sure what you’re missing or need some inspiration for the next step? Ask StormAI for alternative sections better suited to your work.

Section Title Recommendations – Get intelligent AI-generated titles, contextually-related to the ideas within that section.

User Interface (UI) Update

Stormboard’s UI got a new look, feel, and set of functionalities, making working inside a Storm more intuitive, efficient, and easy.

Here’s a quick look at what’s new once you log in to Stormboard:

New Edit Section Toolbar – All primary editing functions now reside in one clean toolbar, allowing quick and easy section edits.

New Section Resize Behavior – Section and border resizing got easier and more flexible! Click and drag a Storm section to fit your needs.

Insert New Sections – New sections can be inserted between existing ones and around a Storm’s perimeter. Transform your Storm in seconds!

Move Sections – Users can now select a section and drag and drop it anywhere to re-order it.

Delete Sections – Not only can you delete sections and fill them with another section’s content, but you can also leave them blank to separate parts of your workspace or add white space.

Agile Project Management Features

We enhanced Stormboard's bi-directional sync, giving visibility into work item updates, and making changes inside a Storm more streamlined.

New Agile Sidebar: Update an idea summary, description, defined sprint, and priority inside a Storm without updating the iteration in both tools.
Agile Status Tags: With a connected, agile backlog, users see sticky note tags that show item status without opening it for an update.

In-Storm and Dashboard Features

Additional Index Card View Options – There are now two additional index card view options. A description, which allows users to work with longer blocks of text. And a SubStorm preview, allowing users to link to another Storm and quickly see what's inside it without having to open it.
Link and SubStorm Previews – Add a hyperlink to your Storm, and a thumbnail appears, complete with a title and details you can edit.
Storm Search – Have lots of content inside a Storm? Search for content by word, color, shape, task, due date, comment, and more.
Folders – Organize your Storms into Folders for easy reference.
Delete Closed Storms – After archiving a Storm, you can permanently delete it.

Collaboration Features

Stormboard’s 2023 resolution was to deliver the most robust collaboration experience to organizations without sacrificing security or charging exponential rates. Below are new functions we added to help you get more out of your Stormboard subscription.

Guest Users – Collaborate with infrequent users without paying for extra seats or removing users each month.
Tasks – Gain added visibility into project status by assigning tasks to owners.

Tagging Collaborators in Storm Chats – Use the at [@] symbol to tag someone in a Storm chat and communicate directly inside the workspace.

Meeting Facilitation Features

Command attention and drive engagement with two new tools built to facilitate meetings.

Section Spotlight: Zoom in everyone's view on a specific section of a Storm.

Laser Pointer: Stormboard's Laser Pointer highlights specific content on your board with a digital laser pointer.

Video Conferencing Integrations

In addition to our recently upgraded Teams integration, we're pleased to announce integrations with two leading video conferencing apps – WebEx and Zoom.

These integrations allow you to embed a Storm into a web conference on any device without awkward screen sharing or toggling tools to collaborate.
