About the Jira integration
The Stormboard for Jira integration enables Stormboard to connect to your Jira instance, allowing you to query your backlog from inside Stormboard, turn Jira issues into live-synced sticky notes, instantly calculate sprint capacity, and turn sticky notes back into Jira Issues.
Key Features
Stormboard pulls Type, Priority, Key, Summary, Description, Status, and Assignee from individual Jira issues
Story points, Priority, and Sprint section are fields that can be updated by Stormboard
Create a Jira backlog section in Stormboard to sync and search for issues within a Jira project
Create and edit Jira issues directly from Jira sticky notes in Stormboard
Turn sticky notes into Jira issues
All information will be updated in both tools – no matter where you edit them
What issue data is not updated by Stormboard?
The following fields are not updated by Stormboard:
Issue title
Issue type
What issue data can be deleted?
Stormboard does not delete any issues in Jira.
What issue data can be created?
Issues can be created from Stormboard using the user’s authentication. New issues created in Jira from a sticky note in Stormboard contain the following fields:
Issue Title
Issue type - options pulled from Jira for that project.
Issue summary
Issue priority – options pulled from Jira for that project.
Custom required fields – pulled from Jira for that project and issue type.
Sync your Dependencies
Dependencies that you create in Stormboard are synced to your Jira account. This feature also allows you to add dependencies that already exist in your planning tool to your Storm, making planning more efficient and effective.
