The KWHLAQ Template is an extended version of the KWL Template and is a teaching tool that helps to organize thoughts and ideas before, after, and during a lesson. This template is useful for both group and independent learning, and is ideal for visual, young, and ESL students.
KWHLAQ represents: Know, What, How, Learn, Apply, and Questions. The six sections of the template will help you record what your student know about a topic, what they want to find out, how the will research for more information, what they have learned from their research, how they will apply what they’ve learned, and what questions they still have.
