How to Use Stormboard to Follow Up After a Meeting
You've just had a productive meeting with your team — now it’s time to follow up.
What do you usually do?
Outline discussion points and tasks in team emails? Do you transcribe hand-written meeting minutes? Are you deciphering scribbled notes from blurry whiteboard photos? Are you tracking team members down after meetings to clarify their assignments?
Following up after a meeting shouldn’t be this hard!
How to Follow Up with Stormboard
Stormboard has multiple built-in functions that make following up a better process. Turn productive meetings into productive actions!
Here are some of the ways you can keep the momentum going.
Getting More Input Quickly
When you’re in a Storm (what we call your digital workspace) and need to send a quick message to a team member, you don't need to leave your workspace. We have built-in email and chat features for you to send messages to your team members so you never have to leave Stormboard.
The chat feature is in the upper right-hand corner of your Storm; the email feature, called Email Participants, is found at the bottom menu under the Actions button (shown below).
When the chat tab is open, you can tag any of your Storm participants to get their attention. Anyone who is tagged will instantly know (via both email and in-app notification) that you want to talk to them in the Storm.
The email feature lets you send a message to specific people or to your whole team at once. It’s a great way to get a message to your team without leaving Stormboard.
Keeping Track of Tasks
No matter what type of meeting you are holding, there will be tasks assigned out to team members. Remembering who has been assigned what, and following up on these tasks can be a lot of work.
With Stormboard, you can easily assign a task to another participant by clicking on the small checkmark on the bottom right-hand corner of any sticky note.
A small dialog will open where you can select who to assign the task to, and what the due date will be. Once saved, the avatar or initials of the person who is assigned the task will be in the place of the small checkmark on the sticky note.
The person assigned the task will receive an email notifying them. They will also have a notification in their task tab in the upper right-hand corner of the Storm (see below). All assigned tasks, who they are assigned to, and their due date can be viewed under the Tasks tab.

Exporting Useful and Dynamic Reports
Stop hastily typing up meeting minutes that no one will read! Use Stormboard Reports to instantly export your important meeting content into a report format that works best for your team.
Types of Stormboard Reports
Wordle
This report generates a word cloud from the text in your Storm. The word cloud gives greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text by making them larger. This helps teams to quickly gauge which terms they are using most often during meetings.Tasks
The Tasks report gives you an overview of the status of all tasks assigned in your Storm. This report sorts all of the tasks in your Storm and generates an Excel document that shows the Task Name, Due Date, Completed Date, Assigned Date, Assigned To, and Current Status. You can see what needs to get done, who it's assigned to, and what actions are needed to complete each task.Votes
Quickly view the most popular ideas after your meeting to set priorities and decide what actions to take next. The Votes report gives an overview of all votes in your Storm by different categories, including Top Ideas, Favorite Ideas, and Vote Summary by User. The report also contains a table of contents and a cover page.Storm Screenshot
Do you take photos of whiteboards after your meetings to reference later? This report works just like that, but better! The Storm Screenshot report is a high-resolution PNG screenshot of your entire Storm. Share this screenshot image with your team, or use it as part of a presentation to share your progress.Microsoft Excel
The Microsoft Excel report is compiled in a spreadsheet and can include these categories: Statistics, Storm Data (ideas and index cards), Comments, Chat, Connectors, and Votes.Microsoft Word
The Microsoft Word reports are detailed and can include any of these sections: Ideas by Section (includes comments), Ideas by Creation Date, Ideas by Creator, Ideas by Legend, Completed Tasks, Incomplete Tasks by Assignment, Incomplete Tasks by Due Date, Top Ideas, Favorite Ideas, Vote Summary by User, and Comments. Each report also includes a table of contents and a cover page that can be customized with your company's brand. Microsoft PowerPoint
This creates a Microsoft PowerPoint slide for each section of your Storm. Use this report when giving presentations to other teams, managers, executives, or stakeholders.Outline
The Outline report gives a comprehensive overview of your Storm in an easy-to-read format. Use this overview to catch up on what happened during your meeting, or to get project updates. You can also copy and paste content from this report into other documents or formats without downloading anything.Exports (CSV, JSON, XML, OPML)
Use this report to export the data from your Storm into other business tools.
Saving All of Your Data Instantly and Securely
Going back to any of your Storms at any time and picking up where you left off is a HUGE time saver.
Instead of erasing a whiteboard after a meeting, team members can return to the meeting space at any time. You can continue working on projects or go over decisions made in the meeting once it is over, and not have to worry about accidentally losing, erasing, or deleting important content.
You also don't need to save your content before you leave a Storm — your information is always automatically and securely saved to the Cloud.
