6 Awesome NEW Updates to Your In-Storm Experience

You may notice something different when you are collaborating with your team today — Stormboard’s Storms have a sleek new look!

We’ve made some exciting new updates to your in-Storm experience to make it easier for you to invite people to join you, navigate your workspace, and focus on getting work done.

Here are a few of the highlights.

Get everyone working together

The real power of Stormboard comes when multiple people are working together in a shared digital workspace — a Storm.

To help make it easier to get your team working together, the “Share” button at the bottom of the Storm has been replaced by an “Invite Users” button. Clicking this will open a redesigned dialog for inviting Users, with three tabs for the three different invite methods.

In the fourth tab of the dialog, you can resend invites that haven’t been received or responded to. Storm Administrators also have to power to choose whether they would like to invite users as a Viewer or a Contributor from this dialog.

Use your colors wisely

When brainstorming or working with multiple people in a Storm, Users often assign a person, project, or team, a specific color of sticky note to use.

You have always been able to customize your color legend using the “Legend” button at the bottom of your Storm (clicking on the name of the color allows you to add in whatever name or title that you like), but now, the color legend will appear in the top left corner of your sticky note allowing you to quickly view what each color represents in your workspace and choose the one that works best for your content!

Make every vote count

The quickest way to get to a consensus if you and your team are tackling a problem, deciding what to work on next, or prioritizing your ideas is to cast a vote.

Stormboard has always given each user 10 votes by default (this can be customized under the “Settings” tab by the Storm Administrator), but now we’ve made it easier for you to keep track of how many votes you have left by adding a “My Votes” icon in the bottom, right-hand corner of your Storm.

Clicking on this icon will highlight all of the sticky notes in the Storm that you have voted on, allowing you to make sure you are making every vote count.

Have the space to draw, sketch, and create

Sometimes, the best way to convey your ideas is to grab a tablet and stylus and start sketching them out on a digital whiteboard to share with your team. That way, you can show everyone what you are trying to convey, rather than communicating using words.

While we have always given users that option with our Whiteboard Sticky Note, we have given it a styling update with this refresh, with sleek, unobtrusive new icons and dialogs for the different shapes and pens. This update will allow your content, and not the interface, to take center stage.

Take control of your meeting

Perform all of your meeting administrative tasks at the push of a button!

We’ve made the menu under the “Actions” button more inclusive, so, if you are a Storm Administrator, you can manage users, see users online, view the total storm users, contributors, viewers, and you can email storm users from this dialog as well. Storm Administrators can also control Users’ access levels from this dialog via a drop-down next to everyone’s name.

Users will also be able to request upgraded access — from Viewer to Contributor or Contributor to Administrator — from the Actions menu.

Clear the clutter

We know that Stormboard is a fantastic tool to help remote teams work better together, but it’s not about us — it’s about you, your team, and your content.

This new refresh has taken away the clutter and has given you a clean, sleek space where your work takes center stage!
